NEW INSIGHTS IN DIABETES AND OBESITY
The prevalence of diabetes has been increasing dramatically, particularly in the past three to four decades, resulting in a worldwide epidemic. Scientific advances have led to effective strategies for preventing and treating this disease and its complications, although the pathway to cure remains elusive. Not only prevalence of diabetes has increased but also obesity, and both increases are connected. The course aims to overview the knowlwedge in diabetes, its treatment as well as the relationship between pancreas and other organs. Various seminars will focus in the following themes:
